A show that fans had to fight to keep alive, then watched end for good in 2022, is coming back. Not as a reboot, not as a spinoff. This time it is a game, and the player is the one steering the ship.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn was revealed at the Future Games Show by developer Owlcat Games, working in partnership with Alcon Interactive Group, the company behind the original television series. Owlcat built its reputation on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and the Pathfinder role-playing games, titles known for long, branching stories where a player's choices carry weight across dozens of hours. That is the studio now inheriting a universe built by writers Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who published as James S. A. Corey.

## Fans flew a banner over Amazon to keep the story going

The player commands a customizable Pinkwater mercenary and picks an origin, Earther, Martian, or Belter captain, before running squad-based missions with two squadmates chosen from a roster of seven recruitable companions. The story is set on Ganymede, where the job is recovering data from Pinkwater Station.

The game is set for spring 2027, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, Epic, and GOG. It will be on Xbox Game Pass from the day it launches, so a subscription alone will get a player in the door.

That is more than a year out, plenty of time for a father who watched the show end in 2022 to revisit it, or to finally start it with a kid who is now old enough for it.
